my naturpath doctor recomended me to take this because i had a test done that showed my cortisol levels were to high at night. ( Im a night person and can sleep better in the early morn/ early afternoon time. I see ashwagandha has many benefits. But i am uncomfortable with side effects. Especially feeling like something is controlling me. It says on this site its a mild sedative and calms you. so does that mean I will feel 'out of it' and over medicated? as if i was on a tranqulizer/ anti-anxiety med? I never took those because i dont want to feel like im on something. What if i take this pill or 1/2 and i cant wake up or it just makes me feel spacey during the day?

Well, then I guess you'd have nothing to compare it with as far as prescription tranquilizers. I am sensitive to benzodiazepines, especially valium, which has a terrifying effect once a dose wears off, just a 5 mg dose twice a day will completely lock up my muscles exactly when the next dose should be taken, it becomes difficult to move my arms enough to swallow the tablet! Imagine the effects on my poor heart! Needless to say, I totally went cold turkey after only 8 days and that was extremely rough and actually medically ill-advised, to say the least. If I could do it over I would try at least to taper off a bit! But having taken my first "ingestion" of about 1/2 teaspoon ashwaganda powder in the early evening yesterday, I can say it has extremely sedating and narcotic qualities. It doesn't knock me out completely, but in a different manner it does paralyze parts of the CNS to relax the body but also I felt it made my skin and muscles extremely sensitive, it re-engineered light touch and massage to heights of exotic, erotic experience! Unfortunately, it gave me a lingering frontal lobe headache that was not severe, but an undesirable invite. Needless to say, it definitely is strongly aphrodisiac, so keep it out of your system if you can't handle feeling so very aroused!

Yes, I have used ASHWAGANDHA as powder form. Its results are very GOOD.

I am using this for the past six years. I read the articles about it and grown it

in my Farm and used. Now I am buying a ready made product and using. I am

73 years, but feel like a teenager. What all I read about it are 100% true.

I am really Grateful to "Nature" for providing such wonderful HERB to mankind.

Regards

For whatever reason, one of the benefits not listed is that it helps with high blood pressure. Erectile dysfunction has many causes but one of the major players is a blood pressure issue. It only makes sense that it helps with regulating the body's blood pressure. I have recommended this several times to people who have high blood pressure problems and it has helped them tremendously. Now I am giving it to my son who has borderline hypertension and am going to monitor him for the next few months to see how it works on him.

I had a friend call me because their father was suffering with a sudden onset of high blood pressure. I recommended the ashwaganda in liquid form and he said it only took about two hours and his pressure returned to normal.

I bought it hoping it might work for sleep, anxiety, or energy levels.

I didn't notice it working until I went off it for two days after having taken it for 2 weeks every day. I noticed I was more irritable and anxious off it (not as in withdrawal but back to my baseline levels of irritability, anxiousness, and latent anger). I took a pill and in 2-3 hours the symptoms listed above lessened noticeably. I experimented a little while after going off and the same thing occurred. Now I notice not taking it soon enough, it is almost addicting for me, in a good way. I plan continuing to take this herb because of its efficacy. Highly recommended.

Yes, in fact I find they work great together. Both are often found in Stress and Adrenal Support Formulas which I currently take and it works great! They use a good balance of the extracted constituents from Rhodiola (Rosavins) and Ashwagandha (Withanolides). Also contains Holy Basil, Schisandra, and Avena Sativa.

Yes! It does work. It helps with healing nerve damage from spinal surgery, helps sleep, takes the edge off pain with adding hormone balance and everything else it claims to do. Can't say enough on how great this works for me.

I was in a vegetative state !
Body was weak ! In stress and shock ! Mental ability had drastically declined !
My cognitive ability was seriously impaired. I could not read, drive, cross the road etc.
In the kitchen I could not do even a single task properly.
My sympathetic nervous system was unresponsive and even a small response caused tremendous pain and discomfort.

Ashwadandha brought me back to life ! A wonderful decoction !
I have taken it for 9 months.
My cognitive abilities have improved considerably. Nervous short-circuits and weakness has been recouped !
I have recovered to normal almost 85 %.

May my Doctor, 70 year old, in Hyderabad, who did a perfect diagnose, and prescribed me Ashwagandha with Kumariasawa live long !

This wonder drug actually breathed life into my dead-like body and mind.

I have been growing this herb for it's medicinal properties for a few years now, I have made extracts from the roots and oils from the leaves, I combined these with pau de arco and a few other small herbal extracts and shea butter to make a 'lotion'.
I used this lotion on a 'spot' on my shoulder with no effects, however 4 others with diagnosed skin cancer used this on their spots with total success. One womans nose was already being deformed, the tip was brownish and just kind of icky, she had no insurance so was willing to try it, I gave it to her with recomended schedule and two months later the spot was gone and her skin was clear.
The other individuals all had success with this method of treating known skin cancers with this mixture, but my spot -( no insurance so it isnt diagnosed) did not respond, maybe it isn't a skin cancer....

I took Ashwagandha and Boswellia together. Is that a good thing? I burped and I just saw a smoke coming from my mouth and a sandy taste as well. I drank more water to get rid of the weird taste. Should I worry?

Hello, I'm a 72 year old white Englishman who behaves more like a 40 year old!! I've had fairly severe arthritis of the left side of my neck and have been on glucosamine for ages with little or no effect. I started taking ashwagandha initially to ease a patch of psoriasis. This has helped a bit, but the most amazing result has been the almost complete relief of pain in my neck coupled with the free movement of my head. I can now get almost complete side to side articulation of my head. My wife has been suffering with painful knees, and so she started on ashwagandha just a couple of weeks ago and is already getting noticeable relief. It really is one of the few herbal products that actually seem to work!

14 months ago I took 4 doses as prescribed by a naturopath/lecturer in herbs @ big school. Totally wrecked my digestive system - complete loss of taste, gagging on everything therefore unable to eat enough to keep healthy - a scary cascade of problems. Still recovering from that with the help of another naturopath. Not a happy camper! :-(

Hello,

I am a married 61yo, white American living in the Philippine Islands for the past 4 1/2 years. My Filipina wife is 39 and VERY sexy. I have a weight problem (5'10" 264#). My last complete Physical/Blood Work was in July 2013, with only my weight out of the normal ranges. Also the cholesterol and blood sugar readings were in the "mid normal" ranges.

I asked my Filipino Doctor about my lack of sleep, sad moods & no sexual drive. The loss of sexual drive (erection) has been with me for about 10-12 years (even though I do have the morning woody all the time). I started taking week on Ashwagandha Root Extract (gray) capsules. As directed by my Doctor. He said to take them 2 times a day for 30 days and see if any changes occur. I am taking Metoprolo 50mg 2 times a day for irregular heartbeat, that issue is gone now.

I will keep you all informed every week of any changes to myself.
