I have just started using 1/2 tsp cinnamon and 1 tsp honey every morning to help with my blood pressure and other problems I have been having. How long can I continue to use the ceylon cinnamon safely? Also when do I have to stop, and whats the time limit before I can use it again. I would like to use it regularly diabetes runs high in my family and I have been diagnosed pre diabetic. It really does keep your sugar levels down!

Good, but would like to see all the spices included in your index. After all their natural and powerful healing properties put them in the same bracket as other herbs. And their use in cooking can not only be beneficial to health but can help reduce the amount of salt and sugar added daily to our food.

I have found that Cinnamon besides being an excellent for joint pain, it is also a natural effective way of keeping Ants out of your house. I notice ants was under my kitchen sink so I sprinkled cinnamon around the edge of the cabnet. Ants were gone.

I have had a reduction of Blood Sugar levels using Cinnamon cassia using 4000mg with meals...
There is a study called "Antidiabetic effect of Cinnamomum cassia and Cinnamomum zeylanicum in vivo and in vitro."from Münster University in Germany that shows that "cassis" works better than "zeylanicum"

Approaching menopause, my periods were lasted up to 21 days--very heavy bleeding and large clots. My gynocologist set me up for surgery, but before that, I learned about cinnamon and started taking it--3 large capsules, or 1 T. in water and drank it. The bleeding stopped dead in its track in just a little while. I did not have surgery. Before trying cinnamon, I was skeptical, but having personally experienced its effectiveness, I highly recommend it. Also, I pulled the top off a wart-like thing on my finger and I couldn't get it to stop bleeding, though the flow was slight, it continued. I tried several things then sprinkled a little cinnamon powder on it. It stopped immediately.

I have used cinnamon to treat nasal inflammation. I have found it to be effective against sinus infections which did not respond to antibiotic treatments. I recently had a raw throat for about 4 days. I had tried several lonzengers as well as salt gargles. Sniffed the cinnamon gone the next day.

I found cinnamon effective for diabetis in taking small tea spoon of grinded cinnamon once a day in early morning before taking anything.
Try that for 15 days and record the result.

My personal experience using "cinnamon" to reduce blood sugar in long-standing type II diabetes has been very positive. "True cinnamon" (Ceylon) works more slowly (1/2 -- 3/4 Tbs daily) but has none of the potentially toxic coumarin found in ALL of the other cassia (so-called "cinnamon") varieties.  The TDI (tolerable daily intake, or safe limit) established for most cassia varieties is about 1 tsp. per day.  This is very far below the LD50, the dose which will kill about half of the subjects.  My Rx medications keep my blood sugar down to minimally-controlled levels; adding a cinnamon regimen brings it down to near-hypoglycemic levels!  With cinnamon, my HbA1c hovers around 5.5%, a level I can live with!

There's nothing I look forward to more in the morning than an aromatic cup of coffee. But I always end up with terrible stomach cramps. Two weeks ago I ordered a cappuccino in a restaurant and they put cinnamon in it. Amazingly, my stomach didn't hurt. So I've been putting cinnamon in my coffee since then and have not had any problems. I had no idea this would help other than from my recent experience and your site has confirmed that the cinnamon is to thank.
