Flaxseed Oil Reviews (Linum Usitatissimum)

Brad 's avatar Brad 02/09/2014 03:09

have found that Golden Flax Seed Oil to be very beneficial. I Recently taken classes in Psychoneuroimmunology which the key to combat or overcome illness is elimination of inflammation. According to science this is where all focus is being centered.

Golden Flax Seed has tremendous benefits in this area from my own research. However, one should drink plenty of water while taking fax seed oil.

How this oil is extracted from the seeds will be the key. From what we learned was all liquids or oils should be consumed at room temperature because they stimulate the immune system verse cold consumption. When taken cold the digestion slows down making it harder to process.

I have found that the lipids around the cells in our bodies are composed of oils besides fats. When a person consumes purely pressed oils they do exchange out the existing oils around lipids. It's like an oil change which enables an enormous health exchange the cells previously had before. Until the new oils cone in, the cells hold the existing oils which can be compromised therefore cells not communicating or allowing vital nutrition process.

It all comes down to buying right quality oils from respected companies and how they extract oil from the actual seeds. There are other essential oils besides Flax Seed out bodies could benefit from however this should be one of the foundational oils first used.

I have taken Golden Flax Seed oil nearly three weeks which the areas of pain appear to be decreasing. Thanks to God!

Brad, Wonderful information. I hope you will continue the education as you study further. I found this website today as I wanted to see what the side effects were for flaxseed oil. After listing my own comment I started to read others. Thank you.

I have Interstitial cystitis which is not like an ordinary bladder infection. It's a breaking down of the bladder wall itself. It is of utmost importance to keep my body Ph balanced. I discovered that flaxseed oil does this very well. It also seems to help soothe the bladder wall itself, reducing pain. I also have severe fibromyalgia and the flaxseed helps with the inflammation and pain associated with it. It has helped me more than any of the very many drugs that have been prescribed to me to deal with these conditions.

Thank you for your comment. I note you mention maintaining your body pH balanced. I thought you might be interested in our article on Water and the difference between natural and artificial alkaline water and how only natural water is actually beneficial in maintaining body alkalinity. I've taken flaxseed oil on and off for approx 20 years, the best way to take it is a spoonful with a little hot water and lemon chaser. Also if you have never taken it before, it is best to start with a small dose, like a tea spoon a day for a few days/ week, then build up to what ever amount you need or want to take. The reason for this is the first thing it does is cleanse or detox your kidneys and liver, so if you have any toxins at all, it will make you feel a little nauseous at first if you take too much to begin with, so build up over 2 weeks or so. I did have some fabulous research from Europe but can't seem to find it and it had the symptom and how many days it took for flaxseed oil to regulate or fix the problem, I do have a lot of knowledge about this and would recommend to anyone and everyone from depression to cancer. Great natural product!

Flaxeed oil is like my liquid gold!!! I have suffered from acne, breast cysts, weight fluctuation, fatigue and general unwellness, weak nails and lack Lustre hair, scalp conditions and inflammation of joints for years. Since taking a tablespoon per day my health has improved dramatically and most of these ailments have subsided greatly. I highly recommend this supplement if diet is insufficient or don't get enough omega 3s in your diet such as myself.

Attn: Jos...I had the same problem several years ago. I had a tumor on my thyroid and when the test came back all it said was suspicious for cancer. Thyroid cancer if difficult to diagnose until it is surgically removed and then tested. I chose to treat it with alternative methods rather than remove it. I wnt on the Budwig diet and also tryied a cancer diet of raw vegetable and fuit along with carrot juicing. I eventually got ride of the tumor. But I continue the Budwig diet (cottage cheese and flax seed oil) along with trying to eat mostly raw vegetables and fruit to make sure it didn't come back. I started using the mixture through out the day often for each meal and I think I must have been eating too much of the oil. I started bleeding not realizing it was the oil. This is a difficult diet to stick with especially when you cook for a family who are fried meat and starch eaters so I was off an on it. I went to the doctor and didn't even think to tell her about the oil, she couldn't find anything wrong with me and ended up have to do a routine surgery which helped. It would start up again every so often but not as bad and then I finally realized it did it whenever I managed to get on my diet. I googled it and found several references it to increased or irregular bleeding. As yet I haven't found out why but I suspect I was just taking too much. One article said that you may need to build up slowly. I was taking like three tablespoons at breakfast, lunch and dinner...using it as a salad dressing and dip for raw veggies. So you aren't the only one this has happen to but the first I ran across besides me.

I just started taking flax seed oil. When will I start seeing results?

Jos 's avatar Jos 29/08/2014 01:25

took flax seed meal for months. I had become ill so took more. I had vaginal bleeding although i'm past menopause plus infections. Eventually i was told to go off all natural or other medications and hospitalized for a curette. Still specialist and doctors could not find anything wrong. In recovery i took no supplements. Eventually it cleared cup after a year. So i started up the flaxseed again. Again i started to bleed. It was definitely the flaxseed.

Vitamin D (2000IU or more per day), Fish Oil & Ginseng have helped my husband a lot with depression. Vitamin D is probably the most important. It is worth asking your doctor to check your levels of Vitamin D.

I have taken this oil both internally as well as using it as a hair oil. It is quite thick for a hair oil but if less is used and rubbed into the scalp and on the hair ends it has a nourishing effect and also helps control dandruff. I found this very helpful. Taken internally as a few spoonsful of cold-pressed flax seed oil on top of steamed vegetables, it had a helpful effect on digestion and also was with regular bowl movements.

I have just recently have been on the aikens diet.. my son is also on this diet. but It left me with forgetting everything and no energy. I lost 15 pounds but I dont have energy to exercise and so I started investigating.. and started a new way of life with quonia, and millet for good carbs with lots of veggies and then I read about Flax seed and chia seeds. so I am making a smoothie in the morning with Flax seed crushed 2 tablespoons and 1 tablespoon of chia seeds.. before dinner. I add the same amount to yogurt. I have so much energy and my memory.... I can walk in a room and remember why I am there. I can finish my tasks completely and I feel fantastic. I dont eat red meat and I am not to fond of fish.. So I find it amazing that these 2 ingredients, changed almost immediately in my system. My son had a singnifcant amount of weight to lose and I did it along with him for support. but I want it as a life style of eating since cancer, skin problems, rheumitiod arthirtus, Raynauds and TMJ and heart desease all are in our family.

I take one flaxseed oil capsule 1250 mg. a day and no more dry eyes! My boyfriends opthomalogist told him it would help with wearing contacts and it does! Other benefits I am noticing also but since that was the one I was looking for I can say, yes, it truly does alleviate dry eye symptoms!

I had been on prednisone for 1 full year. I have been off of it for One full year now.
I have excema and it gets bad plus I have asthma.. Changing my diet has helped emmensely and so I hope that you continue the flax seed.. Chia is also a great one to add it has the magnesium in it where the Flax seed has the potasium and 5 grams of the fiber... I use the seeds the flax I crush and the chia i just use the whole seed. but you can put them in smoothies with a Banana and silk almond milk.. 2 tbs of flax and 1 tbs of chia.. I also put it in my yogurt. I have to tell you my skin is looking amazing and I am not waking up swollen.. So good luck. I hope maybe you will try the way I use it.. it tastes real good..

Great site, glad I found it. Among other ingredients for inflammation and omega3's, I have added flaxseed to a green smoothie recipe that also includes a small amount of fresh ginger. I noticed under the side effects section for flaxseed it states "not to take flaxseed with ginger"... can you shed light on why these 2 should not be consumed together? Thanks!

angie 's avatar angie 04/03/2013 00:10

ginger is used for stomachs aches and flaxseed is high in fiber. I think they would work against eachother. flaxseed. is very gentle and digests slowly so that the insulin levels dont elevate but keep them level.. It also helps the food digest completely.

My son was taken off the asthma meds with just taking the oil and garlic for the respiratory infection, now 15 years old and no need for meds, natural is the best way without the need of side affects and wasting so much money on prescriptions that all they do is get you sicker in the long and don't cure

I am a sever asthmatic, I suffered for 5 years. I had pnemonia 4 to 5 times a year with pluersiy.. In Nov. 2011 I was offered an austrailian shepard pup. well, I took him despite.. Are there any adverse effects when taking Ramipril for lowering blood pressure and eating other blood pressure lowering foods at the same time such as flaxseed? Im 31 and have been taking Rampril for 6 months but would also like to combine more natural methods. Could combining them reduce the blood pressure to dangerously low levels? Emma Colbert

Flax oil causes a rise In estrogen levels. I added ground flax seed to my diet to lower my cholesterol levels. I used 3 tablespoons on my raisin bran each morning. Within 2 weeks my breast became tender exactly like they do right before my period. Then I noticed my face had a pimple, just like it always gets right before my period. And another notable thing,....I get agitated very easily about a week before my period. My gynocologist tested my hormone level during this week and the result showed a significant drop in estrogen. That lack of estrogen made me impossible to live with. My family runs for the hills and I am miserable in my skin! But as soon as I start my period, I'm all rainbows and puppy dogs and another week later I'm back to normal. When I started taking the flax seed, I was focusing on cholesterol and didn't know about the hormonal changes that flax seed can bring about, so when my breast became tender, I immediately freaked out because I was no where near my next expected period so why should my breast be sore, right? Unless something was wrong. So, I jump online and start googling breast cancer symptoms and THATS when I came across the articles about the estrogen raising properties of flax seed! It all made sense then! And the neatest thing was that I didn't have to go through the drop in hormones and the sudden spike to get to the good part. I simply felt good period! So hey ladies, if doc says you have low progesterone or estrogen levels and that's why you fit the criteria of a serial killer before your periods,... Try flaxseed. IT WORKS!

Hi, I know exactly what you are talking about! I have been using the J. Budwig diet and protocol with no deviations for the last 17 days. It's a wonderful diet / system of healing but yes, it has made a boil and many areas of skin eruptions on my face. It could be detox, could be over- sensitivity to the flax oil( I use freshly pressed Barleans) whatever, I am giving the diet a one month trial then deciding whether to continue. I do not suffer from skin problems, so this is striking.

Just started taking Flaxseed Oil. I have had major problems with kidney stones for years and was told this could possible help prevent and even dissolve existing stones. Has anyone ever heard this or has anyone experienced it for themselves.
