I just started taking Ginkgo for sleep attacks during the day which created negative thinking and a depressed CNS. So much in fact I have been avoiding work for years and other simple tasks. When this sleepiness hits I would be totally wiped out. I started to feel Ginkgo's effects after two doses (60mg). Today is my first full day without fatigue (two days after starting). The same degrading thought process is hanging on cause of years of conditioning but without the emotional impact. It is as if I feel numb inside to the thoughts. Strange but it is similar to the feeling I get a half hr after jogging. I will still jog when I can but for other reasons at this point. To be honest I have not read anything close to what is happening to me now relating to Ginkgo. Its like an emotional dimmer is slowly being turned down and tiredness is losing its power. This is freeing up space in my head for concentration and focus. Sleep to is uninterrupted and better. I seem to need less yet get great results. In the past I have tried many antidepressants and even Ritalin. Ritalin worked well but nothing like Ginkgo. I am keeping my fingers crossed that this will continue. I would like to see more studies done on Ginkgo.

about 6 years ago i started to have memory problems, it got so bad if i was driving suddenly my mind would go blank, i could not remember my name, or where i was going, i frecked out the time, sat at the stop light until hocking from behind me made me move, probably only 2 or 3 mins then memory came back, several times this happened, my cousin read about ginko,i started low dose,it took about 2 months, no memory problem, i now take the 120 dose ,morn and night. iam 66 years old, memory still good.

I have been using Ginkgo biloba for approx 4 months now and have experienced more benefits than I thought possible. It has really allowed me to concentrate and focus at a level I didn't think possible. I had not been able to concentrate for nearly a decade and couldn't enjoy my favorite passtime of reading for as many years due to lack of concentration. It has been very beneficial in the "restless leg" syndrome I had been experiencing and lose of circulation in my legs. The cramps I use to experience is nearly non exesitant now. I am allergic to NSAIDS including aspirn, causing me to bleed from hole that shouldn't. I do not experience this using the Ginkgo biloba.

I have been taking Ginkgo biloba for over 20 years and it really supports my mental clarity. If I stop for a period of time, I can really feel the difference. It aids my depression and better blood circulation. I'm one of the lucky males, (it doesn't work for all men), it helps me sexually, it makes my penis feel heavier with the increased blood flow.

A question for a Natureopathic Doctor. Is it safe for me to take Ginko, Ginseng, Gotu Kola, Fo-ti and aloe vera together (not necessarily at the same time)? I have just started my studies for a CPA exam (extremely deficult / less then 10% pass rate) and I wanted to something natural to help me study and remember. My full time job and family make things a bit stressful somethime to study. Can a Natureopathic Doctor help?

@Depika: I was wondering if Gingko actually stops working after a while? I keep hearing various comments on this. Also, I have heard the a combination with Gingsen gives great impact....what type of Gingsen is the best in the market place? Any answer appreciated. I am taking 60 mg/day, 30 in morning and 30 in evening. Clarity, depression gone...never thought it would work! Also, there are various gingko supplements out there. What to think about when you buy? I have heard to get a good, potent version of it, it needs to have min of glycocidets and then something 6% terenep....?

I have used Ginkgo biloba for the last 10 months one capsule per day and I really felt the difference where I felt that my memory is fresher and have more focus and energetics. Also, I had ear wax secretion for two year and after using Ginkgo the problem was gone forever. I recommend using Ginkgo biloba, the herbal type.
