I have been standing anywhere from 8 to 15 hours, 5 days a week for over 18 years. I'm 48 and recently started having leg fatigue, digestive problems and numbness especially when flying. My occupation is a cosmetologist. My symptoms were recurring daily for almost 6 months and I had developed small broken capillaries around my knees. I started taking Horsechestnut daily with 20% Aescin and Hawthorne Berry Tea 2x a day as well as wear leg stockings occasionally, plus bought a pair of Danskos, and I stay hydrated.100% improvement. I've been doing this for 2 months and will continue. I don't take any medications because I don't want to become addicted. It works.

I bought horse chestnut fruit chopped into tiny pieces, then realised it it not advisable to make tea from it because the wrong amount may be harmful, any suggestions please anybody as to how I can possibly use it?? the company sells it provides no instructions whatsoever, I'm afraid I just wasted 3 euros and that's it ! Thanks for any suggestions !

Anyone take Horse Chestnut and have vaginal spotting? Negative pregnancy tests, no pills. I just take vitamins. I have myofascial & left leg venous insufficency.

I've been using horse chestnut both internally in capsules and topical cream for a couple of months now. It worked so well on reducing the bulging and discoloration of my varicose veins as well as treated my painful bleeding hemorrhoids in only two days.

I was skeptical at first, but it really really helped.
Of course, I started to drink more water as hydration is key to vein and overall health and I try to walk on a daily basis. But, you can't expect a miracle by sitting on the couch and ingesting something, it has to be a complete lifestyle change.
Drinking more water and walking isn't that much change anyway and it really helped me in other aspects as well.

Solved my hemorrhoid problem. I take the powder in capsule form every night. I no longer have the bleeding, swelling, itching or pain. I did consult my doctor before starting.

Could this potentially be useful for people with Elhers Danlos Syndrome vascular type? Are there evidence-based studies that show the beneficial effects of this on vascular collagen?

I love the effect it has on my leg veins. Circulation period. I had swellings in my legs in the heat of the summer working outside in the garden and started to be concerned about varicose veins. The cream is good but it is even more effective when taken internally (dried capsules). Helps to keep your legs in good looking and healthy condition. Also, it is good to massage your legs daily with lotion.

There is no doubt horse chestnut extract works for arthritis, swelling, anti-coaugulation of blood (prevents blood clots.) I have used for years. After 2 weeks, I stop as it causes rapid heart beat and dizziness. Use regularly but sparingly, according to your body weight. Its anti- inflammatory properties are anti - arthritic; they will relieve leg cramps. Good for plane/ car travel.Thins blood. Wonderful for vein health.Strengthens vein walls. Has been used for 30 years in Europe but unknown in U.S.

What sort of hemmorrhoid problem did you have? I have a prolapsed hemorrhoid and I really do not want to have surgery. Did you take horse chesnut internall or in a topical form? I hope you see my post and are able to answer.

Horse chestnut, together with grape seed extract and citrus bioflavonoids, as well as nattokinase keep the varicose veins problem surely under control.
Keep your legs elevated when sitting as much as possible!

Ysfkhan 's avatar  Ysfkhan 17/04/2012 15:51

Dear Bill, noted that you took pinokinnase doing the same job as nattokinase?
