45/Cau/Male. My desire for alcohol has decreased significantly since I began taking St. John's wort. I feel things are back on track now. I feel better about life all together. I really didn't think about it until recently about how my desire for alcohol has decreased. I haven't had a drink in 9 days even though I have beer and hard liquor in the house. I just don't feel like drinking anymore.

If that doesn't work, look in to taking niacin. Oh, wait, I was supposed to start that comment with "I am not a doctor, I cannot treat, cure, diagnose your ailments. I speak only in my opinion". With the verbal gun away from my head, I would also recommend looking in to a documentary called "Food Matters". There should be some useful tips in there for safely treating depression, without all the damaging side effects of pharmaceuticals. I hope my OPINIONS helped you out.

Also try eating raw Cacao powder daily. Look into Dr Beck's 'Braintuner' ....and if all else fails look into Rick Simpson oil.

I bought a small pouch of the raw dried herb, and it had a warning label on it. I will type word for word what it says: "This herb is sold for use as an aromatic, cosmetic ingredient, poultice, or other non-food purpose. It is not intended for use as a food or beverage. This herb, along with some others, is considered dangerous if taken internally in excessive amounts." Now I know all about disclaimers, and how the FDA forces people to say "I cannot diagnose, treat, or cure". I have taken this before in its raw dried form before, but I've never heard of any warning label. So, my actual question is "how much is TOO much?".
