I tried taking this in part of an A.Vogel 10 day cleanse. I'd take 15 drops in some water and get an immediate headache (dizziness and equilibrium problem) for about 5 hours.

I have been taking it to treat cystitis as tea since last night in large amounts and it is already relieving pain in my abdomen. The reason I started reading this article is because I noticed that it calmed me and made me sleepy and I also noticed my blood pressure drop. The herb is very powerful and very healing!

I have been taking Uva Ursi for few months to treat an infection in my intestines. It has slowly taken the infection away. I stopped taking it for three weeks due to a stool test that the doctor needed to do and within those three weeks the pain came back from the infection. The doctor said I need to keep taking it as the infection has not yet completely gone away. Is this harmful to take it this long? I take 20 drops in a little bit of water, three times per day.

I am using uva ursi right now for me and my older dogs. My beagle is taking it for inflammed tissue in the digestive tract. The other 3 dogs are taking it for urinary problems. I am taking it for uric acid overflow because I drink pop and it tends to weaken my kidneys causing uric acid to flow and I feel like I have gout in my feet . It seems to be an excellent product. Thankyou for the reading material on this site. Sandy, Indiana.

Just two days of taking recommended doses of tincture of Uva-ursi and echinacea have relieved edema symptoms that my doctor could not understand. I would appreciate seeing contraindications included in the article.

This article seems to imply that there are no side effects. I have read others that suggest it is dangerous to take for long periods as it can harm the liver. Please update the article for the safety of users!

I would like to know about using the herb for my little 12 Lbs. Shih Tzu. She has chronic urinary tract problems. I am currently using UTI free. It seems to be working but she still is licking her vulva, I feel she still has some pain. I want to try Uva Ursi, along side the UTI free and see if it would help.
Any information you can help me with I would appreciate. I'm tired of antibiotics that strip her urinary tract and it starts al over again.

Cynthia

Yesterday I started to have UTI around 4pm, by 7pm, it was like having to pee every 5 mins, the void was a nice feeling but once it it was over, the pain was shooting upwards. Come to think of it, the bad feeling started 2 days before, with a pain down below. I ease the pain with a hot bean bag. Anyway, I started taking Uva Ursi pills right away (Nature's Way) 480mg each pill. I took 3 pills and after 6 hours, the effect came. I was finally able to sleep from around 3am until 9am. My husband suffered from the same thing, probably a lot more serious, taking 8 bouts of antibiotics, and he is still suffering. I am very hopeful, because after taking only 3 pills, the frequency to pee was much reduce. The urge to pee is terrifying, because of the pain that is sure to follow, like ripping up your guts from down below. I have to say that the duration of pain is shorter by just a little, but because I don't have the urge to pee every 5 minutes, I don't have to suffer the pain so often. I have taken another 3 pills after breakfast, and so far the frequency to pee stays less frequent. I will write again to report on my progress. Thanks to nature.
