There are several things you can try for diabetes. Avoid sugar to start and then try eating bitter melon (from an asian grocery), 10 leaves of Swiss Chard daily, plenty good fats from avocado, hemp oil etc. Refuse to fail. Give up all dairy..eat more seafood. Take CoQ10, Chromium, eat Kim Chi, take probiotics.

It's better if people remember that there are 2 types of diabetes which are quite different from one another, and specify which one they are talking about.

Last January, I was really run down from over six weeks of a viral brochitis issue that began to manifest walking pneumonia symptoms. Nothing was working.
A friend recommended Wyldewood Elderberry juice. She had knocked out pneumonia with it in a few days. On her recommendation, I divided the bottle into portions for three days and used it up. I was running at 98% recovery in three days! That was a lot to say after the long six weeks before.

In MO we are adding growers to produce the juice. I'm usually a skeptic because of my science background. But drinking a tbsp. of the juice per day has significantly helped my fibromyalgia. Locally, MO Norhtern Pecans is selling it.

I had a cold and the flu from mid-September through all of November. Spent lots of money on prescriptions, over the counter cold and flu medicines; I even tried some allergy pills - nothing helped.

Friends and I were talking how messed up my immune system must be and one of them recommended Elderberry. I figured it couldn't hurt at this point.

Two days later (2 tables, 1 each day) and I felt noticably better!!! WOW

I recently went into our local organic store to find something to help my children and I stay well through this terrible cold and flu season. I asked her if i were to buy two products for overall health for the family, what would you you use? She recommended elderberry syrup and olive leaf capsules. After 4 days my son is completely well and my daughter and I are remarkably better. She shared so many success stories with me... I personally love it and think it will pay off!

I have been taking elderberry syrup for about four months. During a time when my family and others were experiencing colds and flu, I only had a couple of sniffles for a few days. I use one teaspoon a day for maintenance, and one tablespoon a day if I feel that something may be ensuing. I have been pleased with the results and will continue to keep this regime.

You can make the syrup at home very easily and economically:
2 oz dried elderberries
1 pint water (filtered)
3/4 cup organic honey

Add wather and dried elderberries to a pot and simmer for 20 minutes
Remove from heat, strain and mix with 3/4 cup of organic honey
Funnel into dark colored bottle and keep unrefrigerated for up to two months (mine doesn't last that long because I take 1 Tbls daily)

It is really easy. I didn't have a strainer so I used my french press.

Yes it has, I just last week had flu like symptoms and I went to actually get Echinacea and goldenseal which I still did buy but I also was introduced to Reishi and Elderberry, These herbs were combined and taken 2-4 each every 4-6 hours I began to instantly feel better. I took these and still taking these for 5 days. The healing is right here in the earth, why look anywhere else !!!!

Elderberry is available as dry powder capsule. My "cocktail" mix to cure colds or flu is take equal parts elderberry, echinacea, and goldenseal about every three hours. About 85% of the time, it will kill it in six hours. I caught one nasty cold it would not kill, but reduced the symptoms substantially.

I keep a bottle of elderberry on hand, at the first sign that I am coming down with something I take it. It always knocks it out.  I give it to my kids as well. Same thing for them.

What about other cultivars of Elderberry (not nigra), such as Adams or Johns? Do they have the same/similar health benefits/antioxidants and cold/flu fighting abilities?

I used a few drops of Elderberry extrate externally on a Brown Recluse Spider Bite for a cooling and more body nutrition to the area and it was absorbed immediately. I tried the same immediately afterwards and the same absorbtion took place. I also take Elderberry and Echenacea orally. I have done other things for the bite, but I was surprised that it absorbed it so quickly,as if it was starving for it. The area on my leg felt much better. M-grapes

I also do not have experience, however, I have been searching to find out which kind of elderberry bush has a gnarly-looking 'trunk' and branches. It looks like a miniature version of some ancient, twisted tree. All the images online show the berries and leaves, but no branches. Can anyone help me out on this? Thanks!

Yes, I heard that the red elderberry is poisonous. Is that so? My friend likes to make elderberry wine but does not dare to do so now. Please answer me John.

I was recently diagnosed with thyroiditis and was reading up on elderberry in regard to increasing thyroid function. I started taking two capsules daily of Pure elderberry and my symptoms went away.  I will continue to take it as a daily part of my health regime.

Do the health benefits vary from 1 type of elderberry to another? What about those pretty powder-blue ones?

Is Elderberry juice something one should take all the time or only when needed?  Does anyone have any long term use experience with using Elderberry as an ongoing  dietary supplement?

Do you think drops of elderberry can be used to relief the fever on a almost 12 months`s baby? We are in Quebec and somebody said we can give the baby a maximum of 8ml per day (baby fever due to teething), 0,5ml each 30 minutes. As it works for flu and colds we would like to know if you think it can also relief a baby`s fever?? We don`t want to use chemical medicine!!! Thanks
